Tragedy
For reasons I can't quite explain, but that have to do with self-punishment, I am sitting here watching the View. It is Rosie O'Donnell's birthday, and she is dominating today's show and peppering it with her favourite things (even more than she usually does) -- you know, Broadway shows, infantile political posturing, bullying anyone who disagrees with her and...I can barely bring myself to write it out...Crocs. I should perhaps not be surprised that Rosie has described Crocs as her favourite shoe. She just held up a yellow pair and announced that she likes to stick little ornaments or something in the holes. (Just in case Crocs aren't ugly enough as is.) If all of that weren't enough, she added that every View audience member will be given two pairs of Crocs as a "gift," in honour of Rosie's birthday. Sounds more like punishment to me, at least for those of us who have our eyesight. The proliferation of the Crocs: Isn't that akin to pollution? Shouldn't someone call Al Gore?
