Carnival of the Cats chez Nous
Welcome to our carnival. We're Orloff and Pushkin, aka, les Wonkitties.

I'm Pushkin and I think I'm pretty darn cute.

I'm Orloff, and even though, in theory, Pushkin and I are hosting the carnival together, I'm quite certain I'll be the one doing all the work. But I'll still use the "we," to keep Pushkin's massive ego on balance.

Let's start with our TWENTY-YEAR-OLD cousin, Ollie over at Silly Little Country. This is Ollie "watching" TV. Hey -- what do you want? He's twenty.
Next is Maxwell, who, in a pique of jealousy over at Eclectecon, found himself, or parts of his body, the centre of some extreme close-ups. (By the way, Maxwell's human has offered to host a special edition of the Carnival, featuring all cat bum shots! We think that's a grand idea, since we love moonin' our human. What should Maxwell's human call it? Moonin' Monday? Sounds good to us!)
Speaking of cat bum shots, at Sisu, Babe and Tiny are watching some squirrels do more than reveal their backsides. Oy! We're blushing! Babe and Tiny also have a more highbrow side, and like discussing what is haraam.
Over at the Hidden Paw, a couple of crazy cats are chasing a laser pointer. That's sort of how we look when we spot a bug.
Jan Bussey brings us Pepper, enjoying a new throne! Pepper means business -- check out that stare. At Stillpoint, Sam also has an amazing stare. And while we're on the subject of fierceness, Blue, at Great Pet Stories, doesn't want to let go of "her" lizard. Miss Abby is a gorgeous tigress, at Manx Mnews. Chocolate Chip, at the Peach Pit, is another warrior. Be afraid, be very afraid...for Chocolate Chip is about to pounce. And be more afraid, of the wrath in this gigantic paw, at Mundane Matters in the Life of Lynn. (That paw doesn't look mundane to us.) Foodie Farm Girl brings us Molly Doodlebug, and some important news about an animal sanctuary in Colorado.
We envy Rico Loco his creative resting spot, at No Deep Thoughts, and Tigger can sleep anywhere, at Val's Bien.
Asleep or awake, Spike, at Watermark, just wants to be loved (like all of us!).
We're Canadian cats, but we don't like hockey...unlike this kitty at the Kag Report.
We do like hunting, like Athena, the MIGHTY HUNTRESS, at Composite Drawlings. Pasha and Pixel would like to be hunters, we guess, which is why they're peeping outside, over at Just Between Strangers.
We saw some amazing feline stares earlier, but none like mighty Mycah, at TacJammer. Anchored by Grace gives us some great general kitty shots, including a great paw-grooming moment.
At Keewee's Corner, a gorgeous black kitty wonders, "Who's that?" These cats, at House of Chaos, seem to be enjoying their food as much as we enjoy ours, and Matata is "helping" the human "manage" dinner at the Blog d'Elisson. Pushkin thinks Mr. Z, in his tux, is handsome, at Music and Cats, and neither of us can figure out what the human at Purrfectly Black Cat is so worried about, vis a vis flowers. Aren't fresh flowers created for the sole purpose of cats chewing on them, barfing them up and knocking them over?
Let's face it: Cats are unappreciated. Harley is studying law, at Niobium, and I'll bet he gets as much praise as we're getting -- or I'm getting -- for all our work with the Carnival. I.e., none! Here I am, still toiling:

The gang at Anniemiz, Clara, Dolly, Nosey and Smudge, are smarter than me. They're decidedly not interested in working. Mister Gato at Enrevanche has apparently mistaken himself for a book...but he's not fooling us. He's too fluffy! Juli, Leo and Bambi, at Paw Path Cat Blog, have mistaken themselves for newscasters, bringing us all the cat news that's fit to meow.
At Catnabbit, online kitties everywhere are warned about a serious threat: Humans in disguise!
At Mind of Mog, you can see Izzy's version of a "discreet" Tummy Tuesday pose. And boy -- do we pity kitty Grace, at Babyfied. She's being tormented by a small human. Okay, it's a cute small human, as humans go, but still...
Maximum Leader, K. T. Cat, at the Scratching Post shows us his artistic side, and his helpful, administrative side. The Divine Miss Marilyn, at Leslie's Omnibus, thinks life is good, while Dozer lives up to his name, and Ripley is tres glam, at Windy Pundit's domain.
Like friends of animals everywhere, we were saddened this week to hear of Steve Irwin's death, but take heed, all! There may be a replacement at Laurence's place, in the form of the toy hunter. (Will we be seeing this guy on Animal Planet sometime soon? Will he wear khaki shorts?)
At Melange, Mr. Rhett checks out his "must read" pile, while Willow shamelessly shows us what Tummy Tuesday is all about. Apparently, in the U.K., there are some impressive alpha cats, like Robyn, aka, "The Beastie," who lives at the Poor Mouth. Where overseas felines are concerned, this mighty hunter manque, at Aunty Holly's, is quite lovely. Harley and Tinker enjoy the morning sun, at Curiouser and Curiouser, while this kitty is definitely playing with fire -- or Tide -- at T. Bird on a Wire. At Scribblings, Kosmo, a Bengal mix, joins the family. Stuff like that always makes us happy! As does the possibility that some more cats will coax some humans, like the good folks at Texas Oasis, into taking them in permanently.
At Allan Thinks, someone who already has a home, is settling in even more comfortably, while Tinker is the cat whisperer, at the Secret Life of Shoes (our human really likes that blog name).
Since we are indoor cats, we can't say we've ever had experiences like ones at Chris Dolley's -- but these pictures are amazing. We think we'd be a bit afraid of getting so close to a ewe, quite frankly...
It's all about guarding the mouse, at Jelly Pizza. At Wes Phillips' place, Huck is auditioning for the role of MGM cat, while Bagheera is HUNGRY. Sabaki is spooky and agile, at Middle Fork, and boy oh boy, are we jealous of Missy, at Elms in the Yard. She has what can only be called a full fashion spread goin' on! Our human really likes the second picture, because she says Missy looks so, "wonderfully inelegant."
Katzenheimer looks pretty inelegant, too, at Pascal's Puppy. We don't think we'd like being photoshopped like that, for the record!
Gosh -- could the labours of Orloff nearly be done? I sure hope so, 'cause I'm getting sleepy.

We'd like to wind up our Carnival with some more serious stories. Aloysius, at Catymology, tells us about a cat sanctuary we can support. And Memo is remembered, at Embrace Your Gifts.
Tomorrow, of course, we will also remember the victims of 9-11. Pushkin and I are two cats who do not want to live in a state of feline dhimmitude. So for that reason, and so many others, our fond hope is that people of all political persuasions can agree on that much.
See you at next week's Carnival.
